Colombian pop artist Maluma performed Friday night at Madison Square Garden in front of a near sold out crowd. He now adds his name to the long list of talent that has performed at the world’s most famous arena. He currently has five Billboard Hot 100 singles and dozens of top hits on the Latin Airwave Charts. Maluma has risen from from an up and coming star to a household name in musica urbana.
There’s often a surprise guest appearance at Latinx music shows, it’s part of the collab culture. While one could have predicted a reggaetonero potentially joining Maluma on stage, no one could have predicted a special guest appearance from Jennifer Lopez.
The crowd, of course, was shocked and went totally nuts to see one their queens join Maluma on stage. They performed a duet of “No Me Ames”, a hit track from J-Lo’s 1999 album On The 6.
As J-Lo ramps up for her Superbowl performance in February, we wouldn’t be shocked to see her make a few more guest appearances. Hopefully they will be as great of a surprise as the Maluma concert! over.
